The class will be hosted at our new State-of-the-Art FAEMA Culinary Academy located at 672 Dupont Street (at the corner of Christie). 

This course is open to all as we offer everything one may need to open a Coffee Shop including equipment and Barista tools. 

We also welcome casual students wanting to learn the fine art of Italian Espresso making.

Basic Barista Course

The course provides a deep knowledge about the main coffee qualities and the cultivation systems, the blending, the roasting, the perfect extraction of the Italian espresso and the milk foaming techniques.

The theoretical information allows the participants to closely witness the different stages of coffee processing, while the practical tasting part provides the tools for learning how to recognize a good espresso.

 

Latte Art Course

An advanced hands-on a course providing the theoretical and practical know-how for the preparation of another great Italian classic: the Cappuccino.

Starting from the espresso coffee extraction, we will thereafter outline the organoleptic features of milk, the techniques ensuring the perfect frothing and the acquisition of the most innovative concepts for the creation of original cappuccinos decorated with basic patterns: heart, leaf, apple.

Advance Barista Course

You are invited to visit the largest showroom for coffee equipment in North America, located in the heart of downtown Toronto at the corner of Dupont and Christie.

Our showroom is 20,000 square feet and housed in the historic Ford manufacturing plant. We’ve filled it with the latest and greatest coffee shop equipment, and we feature the best espresso machine and accessories.

  Joey Torkelson,   Master Beverage Mixologist and Lead Drink Developer for Kerry  As Beverage Mixologist and Applications Manager at Kerry, Joey Torkelson leads drink development for Kerry brands that include Island Oasis, DaVinci Gourmet and Oregon Chai. She combines her knowledge of trends, taste and culinary expertise and flair for creativity to deliver revenue generating beverage programs unique to each of her customers. Joey has been with Kerry for 2.5 years and as a former owner operator herself, she understand the needs for traffic driving programs and operationally efficient applications. Joey resides in Delavan, WI and when not mixing up delicious libations, she can be found relaxing by the lake with friends and family.
